Seminar 4

Syndrome Evidence and Junk Science

This fourth of the Psychlaw.net five-part series gives attorneys and mental health professionals the scientific knowledge and courtroom tactics needed to defend clients facing junk science.  The Psychlaw.net faculty have used the "Child Sexual Abuse Accommodation Syndrome" and as example of the junk science people often face in these difficult cases.  Dr. Randy Rand, a noted California psychologist, and Ms. Carin Johnson, an experienced bay area attorney, join our team to demonstrate how to present and debunk junk science. Using actual prosecution courtroom testimony, as well as a presentation format developed by our team, this seminar provides step-by-step training in how to take on junk science like the "Child Sexual Abuse Accommodation Syndrome" and how to teach judges and juries how to see through it.
